Reservoir Simulation and System
Modeling
The best way to assess reservoir or system potential
and optimum development is through IGC's state-of-the-art simulation and
modeling techniques. By predicting gas recoveries and reservoir
performance, for example, we can identify and conduct economic analysis on
logical cases of development. Through system modeling, we can determine
project specifics that will ensure enhanced recovery potential and
increased revenues.
One particular software that IGC uses is the Merlin
Reservoir Simulation System. Developed by engineers at Texaco for oil and
gas production optimization, IGC applies this system to underground
natural gas storage.
Geological and engineering parameters of the reservoir are fine-tuned
until a match is made with historical well and field performance.
Simulations are then run to optimize storage well configuration, to
compare the performance of horizontal versus vertical wells and to enable
the storage operator to predict with confidence the duration of desired
rates of gas injection and withdrawal.
IGC offers comprehensive reservoir evaluation and gas system analysis
